finals week is over! woohoo! i moved out of my dorm yesterday and that was so much work haha. i am looking forward to what i hope will be a lengthy summer ahead!

5/02/2026 spring at work
I work at a museum in a rural area. It is technically on the edge of a small town of 150-ish people, but basically nowhere. Today there were especially few visitors and I forgot to bring my laptop so I spent a good amount of time outside with the flowers. There are so many different colors of wildflower in the plains nearby. I wish I would've taken a picture for you all to see! It was just a perfect day! :D

The new Tomodachi Life is so great guys! I have really enjoyed watching Theodore Roosevelt fall in love with Brittany from Pikmin 3. I have no clue how you guys are adding 70 miis to your island, I made 15 and thought that was a lot lol. I am going straight back to playing the game after writing this. I guess you could say I'm "living the dream!" :>
4/28/2026 uncertainty
History is my passion. Whether it be researching family history, transcribing historical documents, or my very particular interest in Afro-Indigenous relations in Indian Territory (primarily modern Oklahoma, United States). I love it all. However, I have no clue what to do with this interest. For a long time I wanted to be a genealogist, but wasn't able to build up a large enough portfolio. I also really wanted to work in museums, and I currently do, but I'm not doing the kind of research I would like to do. I don't want to work in academia, so I am left with few options out there.
Oh well, I am sure future me will figure something out. For now, I think it would be fun to dedicate future portions of this site to historical happenings?
4/27/2026 writing a paper
I am taking a course on America in the 1960s and I like to learn about queer history so I thought "I'll write a paper on contemporary news coverage of Stonewall!"
I am now regretting that decision
Finding sources for this paper has been such a struggle, whether it be due to copyright or the source only existing in one place somewhere far off. I have been waiting on a scan of The East Village Other, an underground counter-culture newspaper, since February and this paper is due in a week!
I must be doing something right if this is so challenging? Idk.
4/26/2026 family dinner
Today my mawmaw (grandma) turned 71! Most of the family got together for dinner at a restaurant and I had a pretty good time. I don't feel like I talked to her or my pawpaw (grandpa) quite enough though. The day was pretty agonizing beforehand, though. I'm probably going to drop out of college because of this stress. Love you mawmaw, and have a good day everyone!

I have wanted to make a website for a very long time and now I'm doing it! Yippee! Had a pretty good day, even if it was a little stressful at work.
